Gas Tax Holiday

Why are the Politicians offering to sacrifice roads and taxes to help everyone get through the summer instead of investigating the real problem? Why have the oil prices gone up so fast so quick? Even the term "holiday" scares me. Like they are giving us a free vacation. Oil company profits came in today as high as ever.
